The University of Sri Jayewardenepura (UOJ / USJ) offers two programmes that require an aptitude test for admission: BSc (Hons) in Information Technology (128C) and BSc (Hons) in Music & Creative Technology (068C). Each test is designed to evaluate skills unique to its field.
For IT (128C), the test assesses logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and basic mathematical aptitude — skills relevant to software engineering and computer science. For Music & Creative Technology (068C), the test evaluates musicality, theoretical knowledge of music, and creative expression.
Candidates must hold qualifying A/L results and apply through the UOJ press notice. Aptitude test results are combined with Z-scores for final selection.

BSc (Hons) IT — 128C — The aptitude test for IT consists of MCQ and written sections covering logical reasoning, number sequences, spatial ability, and basic programming logic. The test typically lasts 2–2.5 hours. A/L Combined Mathematics or Physical Science stream is preferred.
Music & Creative Technology — 068C — The aptitude test evaluates musicality, music theory knowledge, aural skills, and creative expression. Candidates may be asked to identify musical intervals, rhythmic patterns, and demonstrate understanding of music notation. Prior formal music training is strongly advantageous.
